Here are some interesting facts and photos of
fishing in the Everglades with Mark King
Fishing in the Everglades is a different environment and style of
bass fishing. It is mostly composed of fishing in canals that are
6-20 feet deep with grass and bushes along side. There are cattails
and reeds, along with maiden cane on the flats and banks also. The
fish are of average size with a few trophies mixed in on the good
days.

Mark does saltwater back country trips upon special requests from
his clients. Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, Trout are favorites on these
trips.
The Everglades is a great fun place to fish especially when there
are high winds that make fishing on Lake Okeechobee almost
unbearable with few fish caught. Though shiners work well, the
Everglades is a blast using artificial lures. There is lots of
wildlife and photo ops while fishing the Everglades also. Alligators
abound and otters and birds are everywhere.
The next time you are booked and the weather goes
bad, ask Mark to consider fishing the Everglades for the day. Mark
will know if the conditions are right to have a great day.
